VERDI EXTREME
The Competition VERDI EXTREME for Verdi Off 2024, in collaboration and thanks to the support of the International Friends of Festival Verdi, seeks to select a contemporary music & theatre project or performative installation event to present in the next edition of Verdi Off (taking place from September – October 2024).
The Competition is open to individual professionals, artistic teams, and associations, Italian or international, all of whose members must be less than 35 years of age on the date of the project’s presentation. The performance project may consist of performative installations of musical character, dance, or videoart, opera, musical & theatre performance. The project must be characterized by a strong musical imprint and reference to Verdi’s music, artistically developed in a creative and contemporary way.
The Teatro Regio di Parma will provide a maximum budget of euro 30,000 (thirty thousand/00 euros) and the availability of a performance space for four performances and their relative rehearsals. The winning project will be created and performed in Galleria San Ludovico in Parma, an unconventional exhibition and performance space.
The project will also be programmed in an exhibition of Verdi’s works promoted by the Teatro Regio di Parma in New York planned for May 2025 (details to be defined).
TERMS OF PARTECIPATION
The application form for the selection and all relative materials must be submitted to the Teatro Regio di Parma within April 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM (Central European Time) exclusively via e-mail at: verdioff@teatroregioparma.it.
The official languages of the project presentations and of the materials in the application phase are Italian and English.
May 6th 2024 | presentation of finalist projects to the jury and communication of the selection’s results.
